The traditional "classical" design cues, such as a butterfly-spliced points one are being manufactured in the workshop:
• one-piece cues;
• two-piece cues 1/2;
• two-piece cues 2/3;
• three-piece cues.
The technology, the consequence of which is this design, is known since the second half of the XIX-th century and determines the high playing feachures of the cue.
However, the positive result is possible only on condition of observing such important terms as the job with the correctly and duly chosen and prepared materials, combination of wood types in gluing, mutual position of wood grains, using the types of glue tested by time, high quality of the carpenter's job.
The duly prepared natural wood of domestic and exotic types without any dues or artificial staining is used in the workshop.
This fact and pure natural materials used for protecting the surface of a cue allow us to speak about our products as really pure ecological ones.
We wish to remind you that physical and mechanical types of wood may considerably differ even on various parts of one tree, to say nothing that under one and the same historically formed commercial type of wood,
different types of wood from the point of view of botany could be realized. In this connection the wood characteristics of solidity and density are to some extent approximate,
but sufficient for comparative estimation of wood varieties and understanding the policy of market prices.
The cue surface is covered with natural mastic. The application of such materials for finishing the cue is explained by the fact that they do not affect the structure and design of the wood,
refresh and restore without absolute cleaning the surface to the pure wood.
Natural mastics are pleasant for the hands but the most thing is that they do not alter the feeling of the blow.
Unlike other cuemakers, Mr. Efremov prefers to use for shafts not only "Hard Rock" sugar maple (lat. acer saccharum), but "kavkaz mountain" hornbeam (lat. carpinus betulus). The shaft is made from one peace of wood. The master himself is choosing the solid, equilayer material, preparing it and processing. The master is sure that one should spare neither efforts nor time for the matter.
Besides, there is a possibility to use for this part of the cue the most stable exotic varieties of wood with equilayer position of fibres and quite enough density.
A little tube from Ivorine 3 Atlas Co or Fibre Atlas Co is to be put on the shaft.
For twisting the following types of extenders are used:
• Radial Pin Joint Screw (Uni -Loc Corp.);
• standard pin 5/16-14 & bronze insert;
• Uni-Loc System;
• Atlas G-10 (Atlas Corp.).
